Q&A with Amit Cohen, Software Dev Engineer II

In celebration of Engineers Week 2023, we’re getting to know some of our very own engineers. In this Q&A, we shine the spotlight on Amit Cohen, Software Dev Engineer II.

Why did you choose to become an engineer?

As a child, I liked to understand how things works and solve puzzles of all kinds. I chose to be an engineer so I would have the opportunity to create something new that will improve existing processes.

What are the most important qualities for an engineer to have?

What do you enjoy most about being an engineer? And about being an engineer at Edgio?

As an engineer I get to solve problems and be creative. I always have opportunities to learn new things and at Edgio I get the opportunity to work with other creative and skilled teammates.

What excites you about the future of engineering and what we are doing here at Edgio?

I’m excited for the opportunity to create new products and services at Edgio that will give our customers the solutions they need to succeed in the media streaming industry.

What advice would you give to someone who is just beginning their engineering career?

Be thorough in your area of expertise, expand your knowledge to understand the full picture, and don’t hesitate to ask questions or share your thoughts out loud.

Share a fun fact about yourself or something you enjoy doing outside of work.

I like to participate in sports (running and cycling), watch movies, go live concerts, and travel.
