SimulTV broadcasts more than 130 live channels worldwide, with up to 4k quality. Its line-up includes streaming videos, thousands of movies and Videos On Demand, as well as hundreds of popular channels. The company leverages cross-platform technology such as Over-The-Air (OTA) and Over-The-Top (OTT) broadcasting to deliver quality family entertainment to people around the world on TVs, Smart TVs, tablets, computers, and mobile phones.

SimulTV needed a CDN partner to help accelerate its time-to-market in key regions and ensure consistent, quality viewing experiences regardless of location or device. They needed a competitive advantage that would allow them to deliver a broadcast-quality viewing experience to rival the larger, dominant players such as Hulu and Netflix. To establish its global market presence, SimulTV also needed a reliable and responsive business partner to solve issues as they arose proactively.
Using Edgio, SimulTV was able to quickly launch in key markets, including India, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions. The company then added 25 additional channels in native languages, including Korean and Chinese channels, with 50 more native-language channels planned in the near term. Because operations such as encoding, storage, origination, and server-side ad insertion are powered by Edgio, SimulTV has an end-to-end infrastructure for its global workflows. This has resulted in both performance improvements and cost controls for the customer. SimulTV also benefits from the dedicated support of Edgio Expert Services to provide responsive customer service, help coordinate its launch with a 3rd party Front End Developer and provide technical resources to facilitate workflow interconnections.
